As acknowledged by critics and the musical public, this performance is one of the best modern interpretations of the masterpiece by P. I. Tchaikovsky, which is distinguished by the combination of a reverent attitude to classical traditions, a careful reading of musical and literary material, contemporary stage design.
According to Galina Vishnevskaya, the Opera was one of her favorite pieces, a great singer shone at the Bolshoi theatre, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Grande Opera in Paris: “With Tatiana began my career at the Bolshoi theatre, with her I said goodbye to a large stage at the Paris Grand Opera. Now the music of Tchaikovsky is performed my students, and I’m happy to pass on my love to this great Master. Modestly named Tchaikovsky his Opera “Eugene Onegin” “lyrical scenes” – it has no traditional stage effects, and the perfprmance requires the utmost sincerity and simplicity”.
Tchaikovsky entrusted the first performance of the Opera to the young singers from the Moscow Conservatory and, in a continuation of the tradition, the roles will be played by the young soloists of the Opera Centre.
